Pacific Life Foundation funds photo grants for
families
Families who would love to have
a professional image of their special child but whose budget doesn't
quite stretch that far, will benefit from funding of the Smiles for
Katie family photo grant provided by Pacific Life Foundation.
Photographers who are accredited with Special Kids Photography of
America will be reimbursed $100 for each photo session and one print (up
to 8x10). Photographers may participate once a month, unless other
arrangements are made with SKPA to accomodate special circumstances.

Our recent SKPA
accreditation workshop in St. George, Utah, invi ted
a special child to participate as a model at 4 p.m., following the
training. Landon
was a fun child to work with. As an infant,
he contracted meningitis, which left
him deaf and with severe tooth damage. He was recently outfitted with a
cochlear implant which has allowed
him to learn to hear and recognize vocal language.
Current financial conditions have made professional photographic
services out of reach for this family. The parents are thrilled to have
images that record this important milestone in their son's life.
Here's the application form.
Contact SKPA for
details regarding procedure for setting up this type of photo session.

Images of Landon and his mother from a
SKPA workshop in St. George, Utah, are a joint effort between students
(Cassandra Medley and Christian Herrera), instructor Karen Dórame and
imaging plug-ins from Nik and Kubota. Funding from Pacific Life
Foundation will help provide prints for Landon and his family. In
preparation for the photo session, the mother and child were
interviewed, thereby enabling class members to learn a few signs, i.e.,
"mother" and "love," as shown above (unrehearsed scene). |
